Reis gehört zu jeder Mahlzeit – aber nicht nur! Für gesunde und ausgewogene Mahlzeiten fahren unsere Köchinnen jeden Morgen mit dem Roller auf dem Markt, um Gemüse und Eier, Fisch oder Fleisch einzukaufen, was insgesamt rund 70 Dollar pro Tag kostet. / Rice is part of every meal here – but that's not all! To ensure healthy and balanced meals, our cooks in Battambang and Pursat buy fresh vegetables, eggs, fish, and meat at the market every morning, which costs a total of around USD 70 per day.

Dank unserer Wasserreinigungsanlagen stehen den Schüler/innen und dem Team stets Trinkwasser zur Verfügung. Ein neuer Filter für die Anlage in Pursat, den man monatlich wechseln muss, kostet rund 30 Dollar. / Thanks to our water purification systems, students and staff always have access to clean drinking water. The system requires regular maintenance. A new filter for the system in Pursat, which needs to be replaced every month, costs around $30.

Unser Reis wird immer über einem Holzfeuer gekocht, die einzig richtige Art, dies hier in Kambodscha zu tun, während wir für den Rest der Mahlzeit Gas verwenden. / Our rice is always cooked over a wood fire, the only proper way to do it here in Cambodia, while for the rest of the meal, we use gas.

Für unseren eigenen Sportplatz und die wöchentlichen Sportkurse auf dem Land sind wir ständig auf der Suche, abgenutzte Ausrüstungen zu ersetzen oder frisches neues Material hinzuzufügen, um die Spannung und den Spass zu erhalten! / For our own sports court and our weekly sports classes in the countryside, we’re constantly on the lookout to replace worn-out equipment or add fresh new gear to keep things exciting!

Eine gute Hygieneversorgung beugt Krankheiten vor, aber sie kostet. Hilfst du mit, den Vorrat an Handseife, Waschmittel, Putzmittel und -material auf dem Battambang Campus und im Carolyn House regelmässig aufzufüllen? / Good hygiene prevents sickness, but it comes at a cost. Will you help to regularly replenish the supplies of hand soap, cleaning products, and cleaning materials on the Battambang Campus and in Carolyn House?

Meistens bleiben unsere Schüler/innen an Feiertagen im Lighthouse, aber ein paar Mal im Jahr überraschen wir sie mit aufregenden Ausflügen, um den Alltag aufzulockern und die Energie hochzuhalten! / Our students stay at Lighthouse during most public holidays, but a few times a year, we surprise them with exciting excursions to break the routine and keep the energy high!

In Kamping Puoy werden wir rund 100 stapelbare Stühle für das neue Gemeinschaftszentrum kaufen. Auf der Pursat Base und dem Battambang Campus müssen wir immer wieder einmal kaputt gegangene Stühle ersetzen. Schenkst du uns 10 Stühle? / We plan to purchase around 100 stackable chairs for the new Community Centre in Kamping Puoy. We also constantly have to replace broken chairs at the Pursat Base and the Battambang Campus. Would you gift 10 chairs to us?

Ab Januar ermöglichen wir in Kamping Puoy Zusatzunterricht sowie ganzheitliche Freizeitangebote für die rund 200 7.-9. Klässler/innen. Das soll sie ermutigen, die Schule abzuschliessen, anstatt aus finanziellem Druck frühzeitig arbeiten zu gehen. / Starting in January, we will be offering additional lessons and holistic leisure activities for around 200 seventh to ninth graders at Kamping Puoy. The aim is to encourage them to finish school instead of starting work early due to financial pressure.
