Coming and going is a recurring theme for me as well, not only when I travel to Cambodia or back to Switzerland, but also when I visit different communities to report on our work in Cambodia. I would also be happy to visit your community/church/school/club, etc. to talk about our projects or give a sermon/lecture. I still have a few dates available next spring/fall – please feel free to contact me, I would be very happy to hear from you.
Why are we called Lighthouse Battambang?
Battambang is the city where it all began. A lighthouse used to be very important for ships. At night, its light guided captains so they could safely bring their vessels into port without running aground. Although the captain had to steer the ship himself, it was wise for him to use the lighthouses as guides and follow them when making his decisions in complete freedom. Following this analogy, we want our projects to be like lighthouses, guiding people through different stages of life as they enter and leave the “harbors of life,” as described in our theme “Coming and Going.”
